In the book, "Generations at Work," the authors report that the majority of the CEO slots in Fortune 500 companies are still held by Veterans. Many members of the veteran generation learned their leadership styles from the command-and-control military environment. The majority of CEO's of Fortune 500 companies are held by Veterans.

In these days, someone from the Traditionalist Generation normally served as President of the Board of Directors for many organizations and set the tone of the business culture while holding responsibility for strategic planning of the business.
Children were very aware of what was happening as war was developing in the l930's. The children of this generation lived up to their parents' expectations. They had to.
This generation was retiring from the workforce. Their conveniences were black and white televisions, record players, typewriters, the printing press and pay phones, to name a few. What did people do in these days? They took more walks, met with friends and had fun, without all of the technology applications available today.
On the other hand, some good things happened during this generation; (1) the first kidney dialysis machine. This was used due to an attempt to protect soldiers during World War II. (2) Benjamin Green invented something to protect soldiers from sunburn: Coppertone was developed and is still in stores today.
Some of the big changes that took place were Operation Overload, code named D-Day: the landing of 155,000 Allied Troops on the beaches of Normandy in France, and Paris was liberated from Nazi Occupation. In the UK, Germany launched the VI Rockets/Doodlebugs against London, and a V2 rocket hit London for the first time. Also, thirty-two British Lancaster bombers sunk the mighty German battleship, Tirpitz. The Battle of the Bulge began on December 16, l944 and was one of the deadliest battles in World War II with 19,000 US Soldiers killed. Germany was preparing for the largest force of air power used to bomb railways and other targets.

Also, thirty-two British Lancaster bombers sunk Tirpitz, a German battleship and then in December, the Battle of the Budge turned out to be a very deadly battle in Word War 11. This was when about 19,000 US Soldiers were killed. At this time, Germany had a large force of air power they used to attack railways. The big occurrence was the assassination attempt of Hitler. US Marines landed in Guam, located in the South Pacific.
